Hopefully I will save someone the trouble that I went through. Although I am big fan of Canon network printers, you should know the scanner funtion of this machine is not capable of being networked. The scanner funtion only works via USB. You can network the printer/copier, but not the scanner function. I needed network availabilit for all three funtions.
