Lowest Price Canon Selphy CP780 Hot Pink Compact Photo Printer

The Selphy printer prints turn out quite nice, but I had a few issues.

Pros:
Easy of use
Good quality
Small and light
Speed is decent (the new ink jets are now faster then the Selphy)
Great price for the printer, I even found it at the local store for the same price as Amazon

Cons:
not quite 4X6 prints (the are slightly smaller)
only holds 18 sheets of paper at atime
Ink and paper is kind of expensive, and not always easy to find.
The highest amount of prints per ink package is 36 (that's the biggest ink ribbon I found).

If you need a true 4X6 printer, then this will not work, and if you need to print large quantities, this is not a good printer for the job.

Brother HL-5240 High-Speed Desktop Office Laser Printer Order Now

Excellent printer for everything but envelopes. Mangles envelopes no matter what(see 1 and 2 star reviews). So, if you need to do envelopes, buy a different printer. Everything else including labels, duplexing, etc have worked perfectly. I have had one paper jam in 4400 copies. First copy comes in a few seconds. To be fair, since I seldom do envelopes, I have not tried Brother service to fix the envelope problem.

Software is pretty good and tech support about as good as any these days. For tech support if you get an idiot or someone you can't understand, just hang up and start over. Put the phone on speaker and do something else while you wait on hold. Owner's manual(CD only) is ok.

In summary, 5 stars for paper, 1 star for envelopes. Get more detail about Brother HL-5240 High-Speed Desktop Office Laser Printer.

I really like this printer. It does everything. Setup was not quite plug & play, but it wasn't difficult either. What I like best about this printer is; 4 large ink cartridges (very economical) and two replaceable print heads. The fax was easy to setup and use. Copying is a breeze. HP Wireless G Print Server Buy Now

This print server is definitely a great choice if you own a compatible HP multifunction printer. I had no problems with the software installlation on 4 computers. The device remains connected at all times without unexpected shutdowns. It is very compact in design. Once you set it up you can forget it about it. Just print from any room in the house on your printer neatly stowed away in another room.

Brother HL-5250DN Refurbished Network Ready Laser Printer with Duplex Best Quality

I was looking for a simple little printer to replace my aging inkjet. For the past several years, I have used color very few times, and I am more concerned about clarity of text than pictures. My budget was about $150, and I needed a network printer so that I could access it from multiple computers around my house. I was looking at Brother's entry level model (I think the 2020 or something), but then I came across this refurbished model for about the same price. In addition to the networking capabilities, it features duplex printing, and faster printing. The manufacturer warranty (even on refurbs) gave me some assurance.

The printer arrived in great condition, and was very easy to setup (I did not even need to install their software). Print quality is great, and it has an auto-start function. I would recommend this printer to anyone.Get more detail about Brother HL-5250DN Refurbished Network Ready Laser Printer with Duplex.

HP Photosmart A646 Compact Photo Printer (CC001A#B1H) This instant

The short: small, fast, minimalist, producing great looking prints.

The whole package is minimalist, compact, and designed to be simple to use: The printer arrives packaged eco-friendly in a reusable tote (made from recycled materials) that's actually nice enough to reuse. There's no driver CD, and minimal setup directions. The ink cartridge is all-in-one. The printer needs only an inch or so clearance behind, and a few inches in front (for the paper guide and output). There's a tuck-away stylus to interact with the touch screen, and a fold-down carry handle.

On powerup, the printer displays a simplified version of the paper quick setup directions, and instructs the user to print a calibration page.

When attached via USB to my WindowsXP system, the printer has an unusual design in which is appears to Windows as a CD drive, from which I did the typical driver installation, after which Windows saw the unit as a printer, not a CD drive. Unfortunately, this base Windows software installation didn't seem to offer an interface to the custom modes available from the touchscreen (eg: passport photo, greeting card, etc).

I've owned other photo printers, including Canon's small dye-sub printer: Canon SELPHY CP510 Compact Photo Printer , and this HP beats all of them in speed, print quality, and color reproduction. For color, primary colors are rich and vibrant, though neutrals (such as earth-tones) and pastels are slightly washed out. Blacks are solid and jet-black. I tested some complicated, textured, outdoor scenes and was very pleased with the results (one sample was a mix of sky, desert dust-storm, and people). The same complicated print took 1m43s at "best" and 43s at "fast normal". Interestingly, the quality difference between the two prints was modest. The "best" print was a little more rich and nuanced in detail, but at 5x7, "fast" seems adequate for most things I'd print.

I tried a couple of the speciality modes, and the printer did "the right thing" in printing passport photos, correctly scaling and sizing them (no more figuring out the DPI to resolution ration to get the exact 2x2 required for passports!). Greeting cards came out well also, though the small number of available designs are limiting.

While I like the printer a lot, I did have some quibbles:

* The inbuilt initial setup is a bit simplistic, and led me to at first not taking the tape off the contacts of my print cartridge (I don't usually use inkjet printers so didn't realize). Interrupting the setup before it was finished resulted in having to go through the setup process again. There's such a thing as "too simplified".

* To use the touchscreen-based modes on the printer I had to put the images on a memory card (presumably a bluetooth-enabled phone would have worked too). I realize many people leave their old photos "on their cameras", but I take a lot of photos, and all my archiving and sorting is done on computers, so the on-card-only design makes the custom modes much less useful to me.

* It would be nice to be able to create custom greeting card designs.

* For some reason the sticky protective cover on my model's LCD wouldn't come off without a lot of prodding and scraping, leaving a mar on the touchscreen. The screen itself has a non-obvious locking mechanism in its popped-up position that has to be pressed in the opposite direction from what I expected. I could see the screen getting broken in a multi-user household

My prints were all on HP "Advanced Photo Paper". Most vendors formulate their inks to match their paper, so the combination typically yields the best results.

Aside from the minor quibbles, I'm very pleased with this photo printer. Highly recommended.Get more detail about HP Photosmart A646 Compact Photo Printer (CC001A#B1H).

Brother MFC-9320CW High Quality Digital Color All-in-One Printer with Wireless Networking Top Quality

The MFC-9320cw Digital Color All-in-One prints, copies, scans and faxes with high quality up to 600 x 2400 dpi, contains a 35-page capacity auto document paper feeder and provides easy access to install and replace toner cartridges. But its key features are what makes the 9320cw ideal for small office or business where value and performance are required.

Flexible networking means you can share documents via Ethernet or wireless connectivity as well as with the standard wired connection.

Fax flexibility with stand-alone or PC faxing.

Direct Print/Scan means you can print from or scan to your USB flash memory drive (not included in package)

Copying occurs at a speedy 17ppm with black and white or color, and the paper tray has a 250 sheet capacity, however, for business cards, posters and other thick papers, there's a nifty manual feed.

This all-in-one replaced a trusty HP Deskjet workhorse, and I can say the results have been surprisingly good. I have tested it in print, scan and fax mode and found it fast and efficient. I even printed two sheets of my business cards with better-than-average results. Does it print as well as my HP photo deskjet? No, the first copies were a tad disappointing, however, after tweaking the advanced adjustments, I got color that is almost as good, and since most of my work does not involve photo printing, this is quite acceptable.

Installation was a snap. (I used the wired hookup.) Directions are easy to follow with screen prompts. Setup was accomplished in less than fifteen minutes and this for a person who has never before installed an all-in-one printer.

I have only two nits: this unit does not offer duplex printing, so two-sided copies must be done manually and I occasionally get a message that the yellow and cyan toner cartridges are low, when this is not the case. Another reviewer has made similar comments. The message disappears when I reboot so is not a problem, but rather an annoyance. I would give this printer two thumbs up.Get more detail about Brother MFC-9320CW High Quality Digital Color All-in-One Printer with Wireless Networking.

HP CP2025X Color LaserJet Printer Review

HP CP2025X Color LaserJet Printer (Same as the DN version but with the extra paper tray. Should really give it 5 Stars but feel the long terms costs are going to be high (toner).
I have the printer set up on a print server (Linksys, so not using its built in network capabilities on the CP2025X) and am using XP-Pro on all my machines. Don't print a whole lot (maybe ~100pages /month) and have had this printer for some 4 months. I use my HP Laserjet 1160Le to print my B&W stuff and that too is on its own printer server. Word of caution here, I already had the Linksys (Cisco Systems) print servers ($70each) from a couple of years ago but when I checked the built in networking in a cursory manner on the CP2025X with XP Pro it did not work out of the box. I was going to use the print servers anyway so I didn't play around to see if I could get the built in network capability going with XP Pro. I imagine it would work if I played around with it some.
The CP2025X replaces an Epson900 that I should have thrown out a long time ago. I researched the color laser printers and settled on this one. I did not want an inkjet because they are not near robust enough over the long haul (even the high end photo printers from Epson). The laser printers tend not to have issues with the nozzles getting clogged. This is a REAL issue if you tend not to use your printer all the time (daily). You spend a few minutes trying to get everything lined up to print with inkjet printers, however good or expensive, and frankly the end product is always suboptimal for color documents and pdfs. With the color laser printers I have used at work over the years you simply hit print, everything works every time. Paper jams on color laser printers are the fault of the operator (either too full or last sheet in a tray). On my Epson I could never get the same effortless printing. The CP2025X was something I could afford and had network capability, so not tied to a specific computer just the router. I never have to wonder whether it printed. I can wirelessly reach my router from upstairs and since the printer is actually hooked into the router (via a print server) I hit print and voila, I come down later and it is all done, perfectly. This happens regardless of whether the printer has been used in the past month.
I did consider the Xerox color printers but decided against them for a couple of reasons: I had used one at work off and on and the toner is actually a wax based product that can smudge. The printer was also a lot smellier than the laser printers and needed a few minutes warming up. You can actually smell the wax. I have a small study that the printer is in and I don't leave the windows open and didn't want the wax smell in there. The smell is a drawback with the CP2025X as well but less so. You do smell the toner and this can't be good. This is especially true when you first put the toner cartridges in or if you print out 50 pages at a time. Still, smells A LOT less than the Xerox. The Xerox print cartridges are a lot cheaper and that had me vacillating. In the end the CP2025X is a better product that will print hassle free in color and while the toner cartridges are expensive I am very glad I bought it. Lexmark X2600 All -In-One Printer (12L1685)

We bought this printer at a local store just for a cheap printer for shipping labels, some documents, and scanning ability. Nothing had to be super high quality. So for $40 I thought it was a good buy...well now I know better.

1) The prices for replacement ink is outrageous. I could buy a new printer for the price of the ink.
2) Apparently within a few weeks of buying this they stopped stocking ink at every store close to me. And I have had a very hard time finding it online for less than $50! Which to me is just totally insane!!!
3) The printer guzzles gas worse than a Hummer H-2 guzzles gas driving in town. I printed less than 50 pages of text only pages before needing more ink.
4) The printer comes on all by itself at the oddest times. Which is a waste of energy, and kind of eerie. Especially when I am sitting at my desk in an empty house and the printer starts making noises! Then turns on without me touching it and being across the room from it!

I haven't purchased ink to refill it yet, considering that I haven't been able to find it anywhere for a reasonable price. I am now looking to recycle it and just buy a new printer, that will be more cost effective.

Hope this helps anyone considering buying this...DON'T!Get more detail about Lexmark X2600 All -In-One Printer (12L1685).

Shop For HP P3005 LaserJet Printer

I work at a hotel where we have 3 of these printers and ALL of them have the same problems. First, the paper frequently "jams" in that every 20-30 pages printed it stops printing because it detects a jam; when you open up the paper tray, however, you find a page that the printer has attempted to feed but failed - it's not even really jammed in the traditional sense. The "jam" happens less often when the paper tray is full so even though you can put a whole ream of paper into it you have to fill it up constantly so it won't "jam" as often. One other thing: when the pages feed out of the printer they do not collect together anything close to neatly. After a few pages, the pile quickly becomes a jumbled mess with some pages almost coming off the pile. Do not buy this overpriced piece of plastic. Get more detail about HP P3005 LaserJet Printer.

Buy Samsung CLX-3175FN Color Laser Multi-function Printer

I'm sorry I bought this printer. I guess it's my fault for not looking into it enough.

First, if I'd realized that you can't refill the cartridges because of chips on the cartridges and inside the printer--that would have nixed it right there. How amazingly petty that a company would do that.

The toner cartridges are very small, and hold very little toner. And as insult to injury, they cost through the nose. I curse Samsung every time I have to buy another one.

When making copies, the "lighter" and "darker" settings are levels below in the menu, and very inconvenient to get to.

If I hadn't just bought this several months ago, I'd look for a different printer.Get more detail about Samsung CLX-3175FN Color Laser Multi-function Printer.

Purchase Canon MP480 All-in-One Photo Printer

I love this printer. I purchased this printer from Amazon back in February 2009 when it was an absolute STEAL for $69.99 - a shockingly amazing price for how awesome this printer is. I've used this printer for all of my wedding invitations (100 invitations and reply postcards on cardstock) and received SO many compliments - everyone thought they were professionally done. Nope! Just done on my little $70 printer. I was worried it would overheat or something with all of the invitations and cardstock, but it held up so nicely.

Now that it's over $100 dollars more on Amazon (as of this review it's $179.00) I would say it's still totally worth it. I've also used it for photo copies and scanning - both also great functions with great quality. Everything works great and is fast. This printer is easy to use and looks great. I would recommend this to everybody!Get more detail about Canon MP480 All-in-One Photo Printer.

Order HP LaserJet 1300 Printer

Where To Buy HP Photosmart Pro B9180 Printer

I got this because it's supposed to make good prefessional prints, brochures, etc.
NOPE.

The ink is terrible with 8 seperate (and pricey) toner cartridges.

It has not delivered quality at all. I would never give a client something this had printed because their fingers would be covered in ink. No joke.

Right now, it's a really expensive drafting printer for what we give to the printer shop to make ACTUAL brochures.

AND THE JAMMING!! EVERY FRIGGIN DAY!!!!!!!!!

Advice: Don't put it in front of a wall because you will need to access the back to remove countless pages every day. I do.. Get more detail about HP Photosmart Pro B9180 Printer.

Buying HP Deskjet All-in-One (F4440)

I previously owned two Lexmark printers and my small children did something to them
that new cartridges ran out after printing only 30 pages or so.
I decided to invest in a new printer instead of ink cartridges.
I bought this item. I am so happy with my new printer.
Installation was easy and so far, it works great!

Cheapest Lexmark E260DN Monochrome Laser Printer

This printer is easy to set up and produces good quality print. I haven't had the other reviewers' problems with the manual feed of envelopes, and the Lexmark handles automatic paper feed with ease. One thing I don't like about it is that the on-off switch is in back rather than on the side. Given my computer set-up, this means an awkward stretch for me every time I turn the printer on or off.

The toner cartridge is easy to insert and remove, and the print it produces is sharp and dark and doesn't smudge. My main beef with the Lexmark lies with its voracious appetite for toner. At the default settings the cartridge gets used up in less than the advertised maximum 3500 pages -- not good if you regularly print a lot, often hundreds of pages a day, as I do.

However, you can ameliorate this problem by adjusting the settings. In Printer Preferences click on Print Quality, there click on Custom, and then slide the indicator arrow from 10 to at least 5, which in my experience provides a good sharp dark print. The quality will be acceptable for drafts even at 3 and the cartridge life will be greatly extended.

Overall it's a definite improvement over my ancient HP 2200 laser, and overall I think it was a good purchase. But keep these drawbacks in mind as you consider whether it will work for you.

Cheap Brother MFC-5490CN Professional Series Color Inkjet All-in-One with Ethernet Networking

The printer worked fine for about 4 months, then nothing Black would print. Installed new cartridge even though existing one was 3/4 full. Still no black. Cleaning, alignment, test prints - all no black.

Called Brother tech support and they sent me a new printer under warranty. This one worked for two weeks, and guess what - this will not print in Black now either with a new full black cartridge.

Not worth the headache. I guess this piece of crap is made in China or something.Get more detail about Brother MFC-5490CN Professional Series Color Inkjet All-in-One with Ethernet Networking.

Discount Brother DCP-585CW Color Inkjet All-in-One Photo Printer with Wireless Networking

Set up with either cable or wireless, nice for networking. Print quality of photos is NICE, scanner works like a breeze and scan quality is pretty good as well. I like how you can just push a button and you can see the ink levels. There are 4 different ink cartridges so I only have to replace the color that goes empty. Printing is a little slow but it is a great all around printer/scanner.Get more detail about Brother DCP-585CW Color Inkjet All-in-One Photo Printer with Wireless Networking.

Save Epson NX300 All-In-One Printer Print/Copy/Scan/Fax (Black)

I had an Epson previously and loved it. Then I got a Lexmark. Very expensive cartridges. I saw this for a steal price at Sam's Club (sorry Amazon) so got it. It's very easy to set up (it didn't come with a USB cable so I used the Lexmark's). The instructions and software are very good.

I had a very large document to print. Fifteen pages in it crushed 2 pages. I couldn't find in the Epson software how to print these 2 pages. I called tech support. The tech had no clue once he actually understood what I wanted to do. I got his supervisor. She was smart, understood, knew, explained you now go through your word processing program. Great.

Printed out the entire 250 pages with no further issues. It's not dark dark and I would prefer to see the black more saturated but I don't see where to tweak that function. I also don't know how to turn the printer off. Pressing the on button doesn't do it. Whatever it is it's counterintuitive.

I ordered some generic cartridges for $7 each, buy 2 get 1 free, free shipping. Always used generics with the last Epson and never had a problem. Get the best deal possible on ink and you'll be a happy person.

So I think of this as a disposable--it's a delivery system for ink. If it lasts a year it owes me nothing at the price I paid. This is something for home use, not high volume for office use but it's a decent printer with all the scan/copy/fax functions you could want.
