If you're using a mac and you want to use this printer as a network wireless printer, this is what you need to do:

1. Using an ethernet cord (not the included crossover cord), plug the printer into your router.
2. Turn on the printer, add paper, and hold down the Stop/Clear button for approx. 6 seconds until a diagnostic page prints
3. Type the printer's IP address into your browser.
4. Click the wireless tab on the left side, follow the instructions and hook your printer into your wireless network.

I purchased an Epson Artisan 800 printer and have had problems with the printer constantly needing to clean the print heads. When it prints, the results are beautiful and I have been able to print on Costco Kirkland brand photo paper with great results, if that helps anyone. The printer is sucking up ink like no other, however. I have gone through three sets of cartridges and now the printer is giving a "waste ink pads have reached the end of their life cycle and must be replaced" error message. The printer is only 6 months old. I have been unable to print much because it is always asking me to clean the print heads and then running out of ink. Epson said that I could ship it back to them at my cost and they would send me a replacement printer, but I would have to give them a credit card number to pay for the replacement printer until they receive the old printer back. Fortunately, I paid for Geek Squad Black Tie protection with Best Buy when I bought the printer (sorry Amazon). This printer is going back tomorrow. Our office uses this printer/scanner for office work. As a small office, it works well for us. PROS: The printer and scanner work very fast. The machine is quiet and the print quality is clean and clear. The fax quality is as good as any, on the receiving end. Don't know how it is for faxes we send. CONS: The printer was not terribly expensive, but the replacement drum is $200, which is a hefty amount. We use this printer to print addresses and stamps on legal envelopes. It is a front feed but, instead of shooting the envelopes out the back of the printer, they coil back over and come back out the front. We have had trouble with this wrinkling the envelopes. The manual tells how to change a setting on the feed to avoid this problem, but this involves turning the printer all the way around and flipping two small levers. The machine is bulky enough that it isn't worth the trouble. We've resorted to printing our envelopes on another machine. Another issue is the scan quality, which is not very clear. This has been the most expensive printer I have owned! Don't be fooled by the cheap printer cost!

The reason many lexmark printers are cheap is because they make their profits on their ink. This is no different than any other inkjet printer company; except Lexmark ink includes special patented technology to prevent you from using / refilling their ink cartridges. (You can refill the cartridge, but the printer will not accept the refilled cartridge.) This is unlike any other inkjet printer I've had.

I refuse to pay more than price of human blood for black ink. (Check it yourself)

Please, Please, save yourself money. Buy Brother printers; they do not prevent you from using refilled ink cartridges. Otherwise you will spend more on ink then the cost of the printer within 1 year guaranteed.

Epson Artisan 710 Color Inkjet All-In-One Printer (C11CA53201) Immediately

I bought this printer primarily for printing on CDs and DVDs. However, it has ruined about 20 of my printable DVD discs so far! What happens is that it will print, then towards the end, it will make a clicking noise and then give me a paper jam error, even though I don't have paper in the printer. So in the end, I have a bunch of DVDs that have only printed 75% of the image....printable DVDs don't come cheap...so I am really disappointed.

Anyways, I already received a replacement from Epson, and guess what. It is giving me the same errors. Well, to give it some credit, it printed about 5 DVDs correctly before erroring out. The last 4 DVD discs I printed didn't complete.

I am going to call Epson again, and see what they are going to do about it. Personally, it hasn't been worth the hassle and cost of blank printable DVDs... I wish I never bought this printer.

On the plus side, if you do get it to work, the image quality is really good. LOL! What a joke though. I even updated the drivers to the newest one. I turned the printer on and off. I checked the printer tray. I tried printing with paper inside the printer. I re-installed the Epson software. I'm only using Epson software, even to print the CDs/DVDs, so why is this happening?

With the 315w I simply loaded the install software into both my computers (17" older imac and a newer 24") and then plugged the printer into one of them via usb. The other Mac could see it right away when I went to print something (I simply selected the newer printer) and I was printed a PDF down the hall. Piece of cake. color looks great. Only had for 1 day so that's all I can comment on here. Yes, it can print poster size and yes it can print on cds...all very cool, but the foundational point---quality of printing pictures---was absent. The prints, no matter the size, were flat and obviously printed from a home computer. I even purchased high quality printing paper.
