I have owned this printer for about 3 years. I am a photographer, Web designer and author. Previous to the Canon I owned more Epsons than I can count. Every Epson had the head clogging problem and cleaning the heads to get a perfect print was time consuming and ink wasting. You can let this Canon sit for weeks, fire it up and print a perfect image every time.
I wrote a book and wasn't sure how it would sell so I started printing the front and rear convers on this printer. I printed the book pages on a duplexing, high speed HP LaserJet. The book has sold well and I continue to print the front and rear covers on thick photographic paper. I do this 100's at a time and there is never a burp. Every page is perfect and the print speed is very good.
I use various brands of photographic paper. In fact, I have never used Canon papers. I have my monitor calibrated but not the printer. However I make a slight adjustment in the image brightness and the prints match perfectly.
Yes this thing is heavy and has a large footprint. However, if you are looking for a commercial quality workhorse, this is the unit for you.Get more detail about Canon Pixma Pro9000 Professional Large Format Inkjet Printer (9995A001).
